When planning your honeymoon it’s important to consider the time of year you will be travelling, and what the weather and climate will be like in the country you’re thinking about at that time of year.
Here at hitched.com.au we understand how confusing this can get, so we’ve put together a basic guide explaining which places are best to travel to for every month of the year.
Although it’s summery in Australia, for most of the world it is quite cold, so if you fancy seeing some snow, now is a great time to do it. You can visit the Alps in Switzerland or the Canadian Rockies for some quality cozy time together and the chance to indulge in winter sports such as skiing.
As temperatures start to dip in April in Australia, many other places in the world begin to warm up. America and South Africa are particularly pleasant at this time of year, and it’s also a good time to consider cruises or trips to the Caribbean and the Bahamas.
As autumn turns to winter in Australia, summer is really picking up in gorgeous Asian countries such as Thailand. Thailand is a riot of color, with exotic flowers and trees in full bloom and plenty of sandy beaches to soak up the sun on. European countries such as Italy, Spain, France and Greece are really nice this time of year as well.
It is summer in many places around the world now, so there are many places to choose from. Canada is particularly nice, but it’s best to avoid the Far East at this time of the year as it is monsoon season.
Temperatures start to rise again in Australia, so you could consider staying in your home country for your honeymoon. If you want to travel abroad, the monsoon season is over so it’s a good idea to visit some beautiful Asian countries. Vermont in the USA is also stunning this time of year due to the changing of the leaves, where all the trees turn beautiful shades of orange, yellow and red.
Summer is well underway in Australia and if you feel that the heat may be too much for you, then you could go somewhere considerably more wintry. New York is beautiful (although very cold) at Christmas, and so are Montreal or Quebec in Canada. It’s the prime time to spend a night in Quebec’s ice hotel... if you’re brave enough, that is!
