Rhys and Sarah became husband and wife in a civil ceremony conducted by a ‘super awesome’ celebrant who worked with the couple to make sure their wedding was customised and special to them.
The 110 wedding guests were invited to the wedding with stationery Sarah had designed herself. They used a nautical theme as they saw their wedding to each other as ‘dropping anchor’. The invitations included a silver anchor charm, as well as lyrics from the couple’s favourite romantic songs, as music is important to them.
The bride was walked down the aisle by her mother as her father had sadly passed away ten years before. The special moment was made even more precious at the end of the aisle, when a butterfly flew past. Sarah’s mother believes her husband comes back as a butterfly, so it was as though he was present too.
