Simon said he knew it was all real as soon as he heard the bagpiper they’d hired begin to play. Bagpiper Robert Crozier piped “Scotland the Brave” as Marnie’s brother walked her mother down the aisle, followed by Marnie’s sister, and then Marnie and her father.
They had two readings, one of which was from the bible, and a friend read out a prayer for companionship. Marnie and Simon exchanged rings bought from Roger Thomas in Mornington and they were pronounced husband and wife! The couple exited the church to the cheery and upbeat ‘Marie’s Wedding’ played on the bagpipes.
The reception took place at RACV Cape Schanck, a place the couple visit together a lot. They booked it within one week of being engaged as they knew they’d get married there! They had a delicious menu, split into two with the bride’s suggestions on one side, and the groom’s on the other.
