Grazina & Dieter's Real Wedding

Grazina & Dieter's Real Wedding - Spring Decor

Spring Decor

The time of year greatly influenced Grazina and Dieter when they planned their wedding. They chose pastel wildflowers and fresh white candelabras for the table décor, and lavender sprigs were placed in glass jars complete with messages such as ‘Don’t be shy – put on your dancing shoes tonight’, and ‘Melbourne girl meets Adelaide boy’.

The reception included traditional Lithuanian touches too – the bride and groom entered under woven sashes held up by the bridal party, and shared bread, salt and liquor together, as the bread is a metaphor for sustaining a marriage together, the salt represents the trailing times in life they may have together, and the shot of liqueur represents a love that is always sweet.

The couple gave out favours consisting of a jar of honey from ‘Dan the Bee Man’, and homemade Lithuanian biscuit cakes called ‘sakotis’ made by the bride’s parents.
