Simon and Beth became husband and wife after ten years together in a civil ceremony at the Christchurch Harbour Hotel. Beth stayed at the hotel the night before, and Simon arrived in 1934 Rolls Royce, from Superwed Cars in Bournemouth.
The bride walked down the aisle with her father to the Bridal March played on the harp. An uncle of Beth’s and an uncle of Simon’s both gave readings, and the harpist played ‘All I Ask of You’ as the couple signed the register. The ceremony was full of meaning and feeling for the couple, and although Simon’s grandfather wasn’t there, his presence was still felt.
The couple exchanged rings, Beth using her specially made engagement ring, and Simon receiving a ring from Michael Hill Jewellers, and they were pronounced man and wife!
