Marriage Requirements

Religious ceremonies are not recognised in the Seychelles and so it is necessary for couples to have a civil wedding first, followed by a religious ceremony of their choice. They will need to apply to the Civil Status Office in Victoria to make an appointment for a civil wedding and will need to send in copies of their documents at least two months before the date of their wedding. These documents include copies of their birth certificates, the first two pages of their passports, a letter of no impediment, and if they have been divorced or widowed, copies of the relevant certificates to this effect. They also need to be in the Seychelles at least 2 days before the wedding takes place. For more information visit http://www.seychelles.travel/en/home/legal_requirements.php
