Getting Married in the Bahamas

If you're looking for a honeymoon destination that is romantic and charming, then why not consider the Bahamas. Lying just off the eastern coast of Florida there are several islands to choose from, each with their own unique character, culture and charm. New Providence and Grand Bahama are the main tourist islands and there are plenty of churches in which to exchange your vows. Marriage Requirements

It is possible to get married in the Bahamas the day after your arrival, should you wish to. A couple must both be in the Bahamas at the time of applying for the Marriage Licence from the Registrar Generals Department. They will need to swear before a Notary Public that they are of single status and will also have to give proof of their arrival date in the Bahamas. Documents needed are passports, birth certificates and photo ID. The Marriage Licence costs $100 and there is a Minister's fee of $150 for weekday weddings and $175 for weekends.
