If you're looking for sun, sea and sand and an exotic location on which to hold your wedding then why not consider the Grenadines. Located in the south of the Caribbean the islands are a wonderful mix of black volcanic sand, white sand, lush tropical forests, and rolling green hills. Thanks to the Pirates of The Caribbean having been filmed here in 2004 which showcased the spectacular surroundings, weddings abroad in the Grenadines are steadily growing in popularity and there is a wide choice of venues in which to host your ceremony. From churches to beaches, to hotel resorts and rainforests, you really will be spoilt for choice and with a dazzling array of venues all able to help host your reception, your special day will be an unforgettable experience.
It is necessary for you to have spent at least one day in the Grenadines (not counting your arrival day) before you can apply to get married. You will need to get an application form from the Solicitor general's Office in St. Vincent and then take the form in person to the Ministry of Justice in St. Vincent. The documents you need to present are valid passports, and full birth certificates. You'll also have to name 2 witnesses to be at your ceremony. The cost of a Licence is US$7.50 payable to the Registry Licence if you are giving at least 7 day's notice or US$185 payable to the Ministry of Justice if only 24 hour's notice. Other costs include US$1.84 in stamps for the application form together with US$5.52 revenue stamp.
