Agung Volcano Warnings: What Would an Eruption Mean for Couples Planning to Wed in Bali?
When it comes to planning your wedding, we would always
recommend taking out wedding insurance in plenty of time. This is especially
important if you’re getting married abroad.
Thousands of couples from Australia and New Zealand have
been sent into a panic, following warnings that Bali’s Mount Agung may be on
the verge of an eruption.
Stuart Catt, Co-Founder and Director of Dream Wedding
Insurance said "We've received a number of enquiries over the last week
but unfortunately it's just too late for many couples. Our policies can be
purchased up to 18 months before the wedding so we urge couples to book their
wedding insurance nice and early to avoid these situations."
Like all wedding insurance provider, Dream Wedding Insurance
requires couples to purchase a policy at least 30 days before the wedding. For those tying the knot in Bali in the coming weeks, it’s now a
waiting game to see how and if the wedding will be affected.
With the recent spate of hurricanes, storms and floods
around the world, it has never been more important to take out insurance to protect
your payments. Most policies include cover against severe wedding conditions,
so if you’re unable to get your wedding, you will be reimbursed for all your
wedding outlays as well as any additional costs involved in rescheduling.
Of course, severe weather and natural disasters don’t just
affect overseas weddings. Australia and New Zealand have seen a fair share of
floods, storms and hurricanes too.
It would be absolutely devastating if you had to cancel your
wedding day due to a natural disaster, but imagine how awful it would be if you
lost all your wedding payments and had to reorganise the whole thing without
any of the funding – it is always better to be safe than sorry!
