Prepare For Some Serious Honesty: This Couple's RSVP Card Is Full Of It

by rima@hitched

Sending an RSVP to a wedding is usually quite straight forward.

You say that you can, or cannot attend and that's pretty much it – your opinion or reasons don’t come into the equation because that’s the rules right?

Well I thought that too, until I caught sight of the most honest RSVP letter I have ever seen.

A wedding guest posted his letter from the bride and groom on Reddit to share with the world, what he has received – and the world couldn’t believe it.

So here it is…

Yeah, you read right. It seriously said -

I Regretfully Accept Because:

I only like one of you
I have to rearrange my entire schedule
I am part of a decades' long feud against members of your family

I Accept with Great Excitement Because:

I am glad you are getting married
I want to meet 'that special someone'
I am family

I am Bringing a Date Because:

They are my spouse/significant other
I love triangles!
I'm going to propose at your reception

I am Coming Without a Date Because:

My spouse/significant other is unavailable
I desire to meet someone at your reception
I don't want to bring a date

I am Bringing Children ______:

Who require their own seat
Who have been flower girls or ring bearers
Who are imaginary

I Found this Method of Determining Guest Numbers:

Mildly confusing
Completely unexpected
Similar to the Spanish inquisition
Oddly humorous
Strangely effective

I went through so many different emotions whilst reading this. I was shocked, I slightly cringed, and I laughed…  A lot!!

If anything, I think good on this couple for breakin tradition and doing something a little different.

The only thing I’m not happy about is that I don’t get to see the wedding itself.

If they are this creative and comical with their RSVP forms, then imagine what their first dance will be… Or the speeches! – I am so jealous of those guests right now.

How did it make you feel? Let me know in the comments below!

I’m off now, have to take my imaginary children to a wedding…
