Re-Using Your Wedding Items

How to make the most of your wedding items, post wedding!

Just because your wedding is over, it doesn’t mean you have to say goodbye to all of the items you lovingly picked for your special day. If you don’t want to bin it and can’t bear to sell it, we’ve come up with some unique ways to let your wedding gear live on.

Let Them Eat Cake

Invite your friends and family over after the wedding to share your wedding photos and memories, and serve up the rest of the wedding cake (providing it’s still fresh!). Entertaining at home is a great way to save money after the expense of a wedding, especially if you don’t need to buy in any cake!

Revamp Your Dress

If you loved your wedding dress so much that it actually breaks your heart to think you may never wear it again, don’t worry! You could always have your dress altered so you can wear it on other occasions. Consider dying it or altering the length to transform it. Otherwise, you could do a trash the dress shoot so you can wear it one more time...

Sell Your Décor

You can use some of your wedding décor in your home to remind you of your special day, but you probably don’t have room to display 40 mason jars. Sell (or donate!) your wedding décor to recoup some of the costs and help out a fellow bride.

Dye Your Shoes

If you splashed out on expensive white bridal pumps, make sure you can wear them time and time again by dying them a more practical colour.

Keep Your Bridal Jewellery On

Just because it was bought for your wedding day, it doesn’t mean you can never wear your bridal jewellery again. Wear it on your anniversaries as a special reminder, or lend it to a bride-to-be friend for luck on their wedding day.
