Many brides are referred to as ‘Bridezilla’ at some point during their wedding planning but at hitched we don’t think it’s fair! Wedding planning is exhausting, overwhelming and extremely stressful, so we’ve identified some of the moments that you are perfectly entitled to a wobble.

If you are just starting on your wedding-planning journey, make sure you see our step by step guide to planning a wedding

It’s Fine to be Fussy

Is it really being fussy or just knowing what you want?! Being organised during the planning ensures you will have the wedding of your dreams, and unless they are planning their own wedding, it’s likely your guests just won’t understand. There is nothing wrong with asking to see the fabric in ten different shades, since it’s very likely that you will spend a fortune on your big day, make sure you invest wisely.

It's Not Fine for the Guests to be Fussy

Your guests should be honoured that they have been given an invite to your special day so there's no excuse for any moaning. Hours of organising have gone into perfecting the lunch menu, so don’t take any rubbish from your guests when they exaggerate and say they can’t eat ANYTHING from the menu.

About Those Calls to the Caterer

It’s only normal to put the most important contacts on your speed dial, and with your upcoming schedule, how could the caterers and florist not make it up there? It’s thoughtful of you to share your updated Pinterest board with the florist, and suggest any ideas with the caterer in the early hours of the morning.

Those Essentials are Essential

Essential wedding detail must be a bride thing- because men never seem to understand. Whether it’s an extra dozen rolls of lace ribbon, or packs of glitter to decorate the tables a little bit more, they are all vital in making your day special. So ignore the eye rolls from your partner, he’ll get over it.

There is a Dress Code, Yes

No bride should feel competed against on their big day; however there are still some guests that think wearing white to a wedding is acceptable. You are getting on your future sister-in-law’s nerves by constantly telling her how complimentary her floral pink dress is, but who can blame you? It’s your day so you should be centre of attention.

You’re Always Prepared

People are so unaware of the basic requirements for a wedding. You can’t have confetti that won’t match the colour theme; you must always provide guests with too much in case their first shot goes wrong. Having a backup and too much rather than not enough ensures that EVERYTHING will be picture perfect.

Your Bridesmaids Have Done What?

It is not Bridezilla to keep your bridesmaids on their best behaviour making sure no one makes a last minute decision to bleach their hair green or turn up with black nails. We all know that if you could plan your hen do, you definitely would.

And Talking of Emo…

You use the excuse of ‘bonding’ but we all know that the trip to the tanning salon is just to make sure everyone is bronzed. Glowing skin creates a healthy look and will only compliment their dresses even more. Picture perfect photos are essential!

Your Strict New Regime

As much as you love meeting your mum on your usual Wednesday evenings, you think it’s completely inconsiderate that she offered to go halves on a triple pepperoni pizza. Why hasn’t she remembered that you are strictly only consuming organic foods?

The Paperwork

Don’t Disrupt the Table Plan

It doesn’t matter the extremity of a last minute change of plan or situation, the table plan cannot be changed. Even if your sister has been thinking of ending things with her boyfriend, you must make sure that she can leave things be until your big day is over.
